We always have a choice

Description

This is meant for the Digital Art for World Peace Contest

It's quite abstract.

This is my first time doing abstract stuff with Photoshop, so I'd agree that it's not very good. I think I got some of the lighting wrong and stuff :D

Inspiration?

Well, initially, I wanted to do something to do with guns, with all the school shooting and stuff.

Then there were the recent bombings in India. and this was sort of how it came about.

I also thought of Racial Harmony, but, it just seemed too common. So I used the traditional bomb thing :D

Intepretation?
Hmm, there are a few ways.

Firstly, the heart can potray all the innocent people. and the scissors can represent all those that play a part. So it's kind of like, they have a choice to cut the fuse and save everyone. It's just up to themselves of whether they want to do it the right way, make the right choice. Im not asking everybody to go diffuse bombs, but the message is more like, "It's up to ourselves if we want world peace"

Secondly, as my friend potrays it, you want to cut the fuse, and stop the bomb. However, there's a beautiful, precious, heart inside it, and it makes you ponder. This intepretation is more of personal desires. Desires can lead to alot of things. Robbery, for instance. which leads to guns in banks that go bang (haha), and of course, unrest.

I like it ! The combination of the picture with the text is nice.
However that's not abstract. ^^ Because in abstract pieces, forms are unidentifiable and we can't guess what it is representative of.
